According to information published by BILD expert Julian Röpke, Russian troops are very close to cutting off the main supply route for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas. According to the expert, there are only 7 kilometers left to the point where this important route could be blocked.
According to him, expanding the bridgehead around Ocheretyn, Russian troops are advancing, in particular, to the northwest. There they have almost captured the village of Novooleksandrivka (the Russians claim to have completely captured the court, Ukraine does not confirm this).
Röpke notes that the Russian advance in this direction makes strategic sense: to reach the T0504 highway, which is called the “road of life.” It runs from Kostyantynivka to Pokrovsk, from where the path to the Dnieper opens. Currently, this is the main supply route for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Chasov Yar area.
Russian troops have about 7 km left before cutting the route. There is only one village on this route, Vozdvizhenka. In case of losing the route through T0504, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have alternative supply routes. For example, from the north through Izyum or along rural roads. But they are not as convenient as the “road of life,” writes Röpke.
